Days off

One of the first mornings in the beach house: Parrot invasion . There are these nice colourful ones, named King Parrots (apparently a quite rare and shy species - though not this little guy) and there are much larger ones, which are called Sulphur-crested cockatoos - very noisy creatures. You can see them in the video:

An einem der ersten Morgen im Strand Haus: Papageien Invasion. Es gibt hier diese farbenfrohen, die Königs Papageien heißen und anscheinend zu einer eher seltenen und scheuen Art gehören (ganz anders dieser kleine Freund hier) und dann gibt es deutlich größere Kakadus - sehr laute Geschöpfe. Diese könnt ihr hier im Video sehen:



We both worked Saturday till Monday in the café and had
Tuesday and Wednesday off (in fact as it is not high season yet the place was closed for these two days).
Tuesday we went to see the Erskine Falls just 10 km inland from Lorne:

Wir haben beide Samstag bis Montag im Café gearbeitet und hatten Dienstag und Mittwoch frei (das Café war aber eh geschlossen, da es noch nicht Hochsaison ist). Dienstag sind wir zu den Erskine Wasserfällen gefahren, die nur 10 km von hier im Landesinneren sind.




On Wednesday we went down the Great Ocean Road to see the so called Twelve Apostles, which is a rock formation just east of Port Campbell. There once were really twelve of them but time and the sea contributed its part so that there are only about seven left. It is still very impressive to see.

Mittwoch sind wir die Great Ocean Road ein Stück weiter gefahren, um die sogenannten 12 Apostel zu sehen. Das ist eine Fels-Formation etwas östlich von Port Campbell. Es waren einst wirklich 12 aber die Zeit und das Meer haben dazu beigetragen, dass es heute nur noch 7 sind. Dennoch sind sie sehr eindrucksvoll anzuschauen.
