Nachdem ich wieder mal sehr spät dran bin, kommt hier endlich der erste Teil meiner letzen Reise:
After being really late once AGAIN, finally here comes the first part of my latest travels:
Nachdem Martin nach Adelaide, bzw Mclaren Vale zurückgeflogen ist, um dort zu arbeiten, bin ich mit neuem Travel Mate weitergezogen. Uwe hatten wir (Martin, Denise und ich) schon in Darwin am Mindil Beach getroffen und dann zufällig in Cairns an einem der Northern Beaches wieder gesehen. Wir haben uns dann eine Route für den ersten Trip überlegt: Auf zum Cape Tribulation (nördlich von Cairns).
After Martin had flown back to Adelaide (or Mclaren Vale) to find a job there, I continued my trip with a new travel mate. Martin, Denise and me had already met Uwe in Darwin at Mindil Beach a few weeks ago. Coincidentally, we came across him at one of the northern beaches around Cairns. We planned our first trip: off to Cape Tribulation (north of Cairns).

Auf der ganzen Strecke sind Bodenwellen, damit man langsam fährt und auf Cassowaries aufpasst. Ein Scherzkeks hat eines der Zeichen ein wenig verändert:

Die Fahrt durch den Regenwald war wunderschön und die Strände waren einfach traumhaft.
The drive through the rainforest was awesome and the beaches were just stunning.

Nachdem wir eine Weile den tollen Strand, den Sonnenuntergang und den Mond über dem Meer bewundert hatten, sind wir zurück zur Fähre und wieder auf die andere Seite des Flusses. Wir sind bis nach Mossman gefahren und haben uns einen beliebigen Schlafplatz zwischen Zuckerrohrfeldern und Farmhäusern gesucht.
After spending quite a while admiring the beach, the sunset and the moon shimmering over the sea, we headed back to the ferry and crossed the river again. We drove back to Mossman and found a random place to sleep between sugar cane fields and farm houses.
Am nächsten Morgen haben wir (nachdem wir von einer Council-Mitarbeiterin freundlich darauf hingewiesen wurden, dass wir dort nicht schlafen dürfen) die Mossman River Gorge angeschaut.
War ok aber nicht so beeindruckend, wie wir fanden.
The next morning (after we got told by a council worker that we were not supposed to sleep there) we went to see the Mossman River Gorge. It was ok but not that impressive.
Als wir zum Auto zurück kamen, hatten wir einen neuen Reisegefährten. Er (oder sie) saß außen am Auto als wir wegfuhren. Als wir bei unserem nächsten Ziel ankamen, saß er/sie immer noch fest ans Auto gepresst dort. :)
When we got back to the car, we had a new travel mate. He (or she) was sitting at the outside of the car and we drove off. When we got to our next destination, he/she was still clinging to the car. :)

Am nächsten Morgen wurden wir auf unserem Rastplatz sozusagen von aufsteigenden Heißluftballons geweckt:
The next morning we were literally woken up by hot air ballons rising up into the air:
Nach einem entspannten Frühstück gings dann zur Granite Gorge. Das tollste daran war, dass es von Wallabies wimmelte und man konnte sie sogar füttern.
After a relaxing breakfast, we went to the Granite Gorge. The best thing about it was that the place was swarming with wallabies and you could even feed them.
Frei nach dem Motto "jeden Tag eine gute Tat" hat Uwe einen kleinen Hund (wir nannten ihn Paul) gerettet, der die Entengrütze auf dem See für eine Wiese gehalten hat und dann nicht mehr die Mauer hochkam.
Uwe saved a little dog (we named him Paul), wo mistook the duckweed on the lake for green lawn and then didn't make it up the wall anymore.
Von dort aus sind wir zu Coffee Works gefahren, weil die Mareeba Gegend für ihren Kaffee berühmt ist.
From there we went to Woffe Works, as the Mareeba area is famous for its coffee.
Anschließend gings zurück nach Cairns, wo wir an der Esplanade ein fantastisches Bbq gehabt haben.
Finally, we went back to Cairns, where we had a fantastic bbq at the Esplanade.
Fazit:
Es war ein toller Trip mit schöner Landschaft und super Stimmung.
It was an amazing trip with beautiful landscapes and a great atmosphere.
Während wir im Waschsalon auf die Wäsche gewartet haben, wurde die 2. Tour geplant. Fortsetzung folgt.... :)
